Our Cigars | Grand Alii

Dear Cigar Lover, Please understand that we are working diligently, but without haste on the Grand Alii cigar. This has been a journey that began nearly 4 years ago, and to rush production on this cigar would be a shame. Since day one, I have maintained that we would not create any cigar that was not of the highest quality. Our Island Prince, which uses Kauai grown tobacco in the filler, has proven that point true. Separate from our accomplished coffee operation, the cigar business has, and will continue to be a favorite hobby of mine. And while we were planning to roll and release the Grand Alii early in 2009, the tobacco has spoken to us and it is saying that it has simply not come of age yet. I have sampled many variations of these cigars that span crops, primings, fermentation rounds, and blends and I am still not satisfied with the result. My goal is to introduce a Kauai puro cigar that will "Wow" the most discerning of tastes. And as I continue to say, we have the unique opportunity to get it right the first time, and we plan on doing just that. When this magical moment is upon us, we will provide plenty of notice to all interested in purchasing these cigars. You still can not rush a good thing. Too often with cigars we rush this journey, and those kind of endings are lonely, and deserted places. Time is not, and never will be, of the essence when making a fine Kauai cigar.
